Day 1
Heading southwest from London your tour begins with a visit to the ancient site of Stonehenge. See the Georgian splendour of Stourhead Gardens and spend time in the Roman city of Bath, marvelling at its splendid Georgian architecture.
Day 2
Cross the border into Wales, explore the natural beauty of the Wye Valley, and visit the medieval Chepstow Castle, perched on the rocks above the river Wye. Enjoy the magnificent views from Symonds Yat and the medieval ruins of Tintern Abbey.
Day 3
Your journey continues through the Brecon Beacons National Park, with its waterfalls, peaks and wildlife. Visit the castle of Carreg Cennen and its secret tunnel with your private guide.
Day 4
Follow the coastal route from Fishguard, past Cardigan Bay and into Snowdonia.
Day 5
Venture into the rugged mountains of Snowdonia, including a train ride to the summit of Mount Snowdon.
Day 6
You will visit the magnificent castles of Caernarfon, Beaumaris and Conwy. Built by the English king, Edward I, during his struggle to pacify the Welsh princes in the early 14th century.
Day 7
The route back to England passes Powis Castle, near Welshpool. The castle, dating back to the 13th century, is famed for its terraced baroque-style gardens. Spending the night at your Cotswolds hotel.
Day 8
A morning visit to the splendid Blenheim Palace, seat of the Duke of Marlborough, and ancestral home of Winston Churchill. A short distance away, Oxford, an ancient seat of education, famed for its 'dreaming spires', where you will tour some of the 38 most beautiful colleges.
