Your journey begins in London, a city deeply intertwined with the World of Harry Potter. Here, you’ll discover iconic filming locations and scenes recognisable from the series. From the Piccadilly Circus, where Harry, Hermione and Ron made their escape from Death Eaters to Claremont Square, which provided the inspiration for 12 Grimmauld Place, London’s landmarks are imbued with magic.
At Kings Cross, you’ll find 9¾, where young wizards and witches embark on their journey to Hogwarts. While the train might be hidden from Muggle eyes, visitors to the station can snap a photo with a house scarf and disappearing trolley. Just across the street stands the majestic St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, which is used in exterior scenes in The Chamber of Secrets. The Millennium Bridge, dramatically destroyed by Death Eaters in The Half-Blood Prince, offers stunning views over the Thames and serves as a stark reminder of Voldermort’s return.
Wander through the historic Leadenhall Market, which was used as Diagon Alley in The Philosopher’s Stone. The market’s stunning Victorian architecture, with cobblestone streets and ornate arches, makes it easy to imagine aspiring wizards and witches shopping for wands and potions.

We’ll begin day four with a visit to the hallowed halls of Hogwarts, otherwise known in the muggle world as Gloucester Cathedral. With soaring arches and intricate stained glass, Gloucester Cathedral’s cloisters were transformed into the hallowed halls of Hogwarts in the films.
In the afternoon, it’s on to the spellbinding Oxford. Christ Church, one of Oxford’s oldest colleges, provided the backdrop for several scenes filmed throughout the franchise. As you wander through the cobbled streets, echoes of spells linger in the air. Visitors can immerse themselves in this magical atmosphere, exploring centuries-old libraries and tranquil gardens that inspired generations of scholars and wizards alike.

The Bodleian Library, one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious libraries, is a haven for Ravenclaws, who value knowledge and learning above all else. Located at the heart of Oxford University, the library houses over 13 million printed works, manuscripts and rate books. The next day of the tour takes us north to Hardwick Hall, a magnificent Elizabethan gem nestled in the heart of Derbyshire. With towering windows and intricate stonework, this stately home evokes a sense of mystery and magic. In the Harry Potter films, Hardwick Hall’s exterior stands in for Malfoy Manor.
House-specific adventure (Hufflepuff): Badger watching at Rutland Water
Hufflepuffs, with their affinity for nature, will love the tranquil experience of badger watching at Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust’s reserve at Rutland Water. In a hide near the badger sett, you’ll have a chance to observe these fascinating creatures - so closely aligned with Hufflepuff - as they emerge for their evening forage.
Beyond badgers, you may also be fortunate enough to spot other nocturnal animals like tawny owls, bats, foxes and muntjac deer.

On day five we’ll travel east to Durham by way of Goathland Train Station. In the film series, Goathland Train Station serves as Hogsmeade Station. If you listen closely, you might hear the whistle of the Hogwarts Express in the distance.
The next stop on our journey takes us to Durham Cathedral, a UNESCO World heritage Site that captivates visitors with its stunning Norman architecture and serene surroundings. This beautiful building serves as an important filming location in both Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
If you’re lucky, you might even glimpse Hogwarts’ cantankerous caretaker, Argus Filch, who can be found prowling around the Cathedral’s cloisters.

The final day of our tour will take us to Alnwick Castle, a spellbinding destination steeped in history and Wizarding World significance. This majestic fortress, complete with towering stone walls and sprawling grounds, served as the backdrop for Hogwarts in several films from the franchise.

Glencoe Travel Day
On day seven, we’ll travel from Alnwick Castle to Glencoe, following a route which mirrors that taken by the legendary Hogwarts Express. As we leave Alnwick medieval charm behind, the scenery transforms into a tapestry of lush green hills and serene lochs, stretching as far as the eye can see.
As we reach the Highlands, look out for the rugged peaks of Glencoe, their majestic silhouettes evoking a sense of adventure and wonder. We’ll spend the night here, before heading to our first Scottish destination the next morning.

Day eight of our tour takes us to Loch Etive, a hidden treasure nestled in the Scottish Highlands. On approach, the surrounding landscape unfolds into a stunning vista of towering mountains and verdant hills, The Loch served as the backdrop for several scenes in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, when Harry and Hermione sought a brief refuge from nearby danger.
In the afternoon, we’ll travel back to Glen Coe, stopping for tea next to Hagrid’s Hut along the way. Steeped in tales of ancient clans, heroic struggles and mythical creatures, there’s a sense of magic in the air at Glen Coe.

For the intellectually curious Ravenclaws, stargazing in Glencoe offers a truly magical experience. Nestled in the Scottish Highlands, Glencoe’s dark skies provide the perfect setting for exploring the mysteries of the Cosmos.
With minimal light pollution, Ravenclaws can enjoy a clear, unobstructed view of constellations, planets and distant galaxies.

Our magical tour ends with a visit to Glenfinnan Viaduct, timing our visit to catch a glimpse of the iconic “Hogwarts Express”. Visitors can soak in the atmosphere and witness the train’s approach, billowing smoke and steam as it traverses the picturesque Scottish landscape. After capturing the perfect shot, you’ll even be able to take a ride on The Jacobite, which is a traditional steam train.

A scenic drive takes us to Lacock, a quintessentially English village nestled in the heart of Wiltshire. Lacock is no stranger to the TV and film industry, featuring in countless productions including Pride and Prejudice, Downtown Abbey, and, of course, Harry Potter.
The Abbey, a formal nunnery, starred in numerous scenes showcasing Hogwart’s grandiose architecture.
