Scottish Highlands Tour Itinerary
Venture into the Scottish Highlands' rugged terrain and stunning landscapes with our meticulously planned and luxurious private guided tour. This thoughtfully crafted three-day tour showcases the region's key attractions and creates unforgettable moments.
Day 1
On the first day of our Highlands tour, we pick you up in Edinburgh and transport you west to Stirling Castle. Here, you will learn about the legacy of Robert the Bruce, who defeated the English armies at Bannockburn in 1314.
You will continue to the most beautiful of all glens, Glencoe, where you will hear about the infamous 1692 massacre of Clan MacDonald. We then visit the Commando Memorial north of Fort William, a dedication to British Commando Forces during WWII. Your final stop for the day is Fort Augustus, along the southern tip of Loch Ness. From there, you will continue to your hotel in Inverness.
Day 2
The next morning enjoy a Jacobite cruise on Loch Ness and stop off at Urquhart Castle. Visit Cawdor Castle, dating from the late 14th century, a splendid house and the home of the Campbell family to this day. Round off the day with a visit to Culloden Battlefield, where the last hand-to-hand battle was fought on British soil in 1746. Nearby is Clava Cairns, one of the best preserved Bronze Age burial sites in Scotland.
Day 3
On the final day of your tour, we will return south, travelling through the mountains of Cairngorms National Park. You will enjoy the stunning view across Loch Tummel from Queen's View before continuing into the Highlands resort town of Pitlochry and the Blair Athol Distillery. Your final venue of the trip will be Scone Palace, the coronation site of Scottish Kings and a replica of the Stone of Destiny.
