Discover Stonehenge & Royal Bath

Start the day early and travel southwest to one of the most important ancient monuments in the world and UNESCO Heritage Site, Stonehenge. The structure is almost 5,000 years old. Whatever its intended purpose, the structure is a masterpiece of engineering. One can only wonder at the mystery of this remarkable monument. We question the purpose of construction and the force of nature behind the timeless grandeur.

The journey continues further west, where we encounter the Georgian elegance that is the city of Bath. Bath is an architectural masterpiece, one of Europe’s most beautiful and elegant cities. The building of Bath was a result of one of those moments in history when individual self-interest, community interest, idealism and commerce, wonder and taste, love and money all point in the same direction.

After lunch, we tour the ancient Roman Baths and visit the 1,000 year old Bath Abbey. We then begin our tour of the historic city centre including visiting the most beautiful streets in England, The Royal Crescent and the Circus. To conclude the tour you can take afternoon tea, before setting off on our return journey.

Discover The Cotswolds

Centred on the gentle slopes of the Cotswold Hills, the Cotswolds extend through Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire. This beautiful area is famous for its tranquil villages, which are largely built from locally quarried warm, honey-coloured limestone.

In an area once given over almost entirely to sheep farming, many of the fine manor houses and churches owe their existence to the generosity of wealthy 14th and 15th-century yeoman farmers and wool merchants. Water is never far from sight in the Cotswolds, where numerous sparkling streams and rivers wind through the valleys and alongside village streets.

Our suggested route, refined through many years of exploring this beautiful landscape, in our opinion offers the very best the Cotswolds has to offer and without a doubt will leave you with a host of unforgettable memories.

We start at the “Gateway of the Cotswolds”, Burford, a charming old wool town full of gabled cottages and cobbled streets. We then take a slow meandering tour through some of the most beautiful landscapes this country has to offer, through such charming villages as The Slaughters, and Bourton-on-the-water before making our way to Stow-on-the-wold for lunch at a fine country tavern. Of course, there is time to enjoy some shopping at the eclectic mix of boutiques and perhaps purchase a rare antique to take home with you.

After lunch we tour Broadway the most beautiful village this region boasts, followed by a tour through Chipping Camden, with perhaps time for afternoon tea and cake before we journey home.

Blenheim Palace & Oxford

Tour Highlights

  • Key Attractions: Collegiate Oxford, Blenheim Palace, state apartments, Churchill Museum, Woodstock village and the charming Oxfordshire countryside.

  • Duration: Full one-day private tour

  • Tour is customisable

  • Starting London (hotel, airport or seaport)

Discover Blenheim Palace & Oxford

A 90 minute drive from London our day commences in the heart of the historic city of Oxford. The home of English education for over 800 years.  Tour the most beautiful of the 38 colleges that make up the University. We visit discreet gardens, ancient dining halls and chapels, and locations where some of our leading scholars spent their most informative years.

We then make the short journey to the charming Cotswold village of Woodstock for lunch, saving the magnificence of Blenheim Palace for later. The size and scale of the Palace is truly remarkable. Designated by the United Nations as a World Heritage Site, the Palace is an oasis of history and achievement. Blenheim was the gift of Queen Anne and a grateful nation to the 1st Duke of Marlborough for his great victory at the Battle of Blenheim in 1704. The Palace’s design reflects the triumphal mood from the military symbolism, the war trophies on the colonnades to the scale of the heroic Grand Bridge. England’s greatest gardener, Lancelot “Capability” Brown designed the great lake and hanging beech woods beyond, all to look so effortlessly natural.

Birthplace to Sir Winston Churchill and still very much a family residence, Blenheim is perhaps our most magnificent stately home.

Tour through the beautiful Chiltern countryside on the return journey.

Discover Downton Abbey Country

Highclere Castle, the house used as the Grantham family home, is only open a few weeks each summer. When it is closed to the public we would highly recommend touring some of the beautiful locations used for the TV drama.

We spend our day in the most breathtaking English countryside. The series is set in the fictional Yorkshire country estate of Downton Abbey but many of the locations are in the wonderful Oxfordshire Cotswolds. This is such a beautiful area that it was no surprise the producers chose to film some of the most memorable scenes from the series here, particularly Bampton, which doubles as the fictional village of Downton.

Our morning is largely spent in this breathtaking village. The area around the parish church of St. Mary`s may appear oddly familiar to you as this is where many of the village scenes for the series were filmed and where many dramas have been played out in the streets. We visit the Crawley residence, Downton Cottage Hospital, The Grantham Arms, The Dog & Duck, Downton Fair site and of course the church.

After lunch at a wonderful country inn, we then visit Mr Bates‘s pub and then on to the scene of the planned elopement of Lady Sybil and Branson. Finally, we have just enough time for some tea and a spot of souvenir shopping in lovely Burford. What a wonderful day!

Discover Chartwell and Hever Castle

Winston and Clementine Churchill bought Chartwell in 1922 and it would be their family home for the next forty years.

Winston Churchill started his life as a soldier and journalist and travelled the world. He would go on to serve as Prime Minister twice, as a member of Parliament for over 60 years under five different monarchs and to lead Britain to victory in the Second World War.

He loved Chartwell. Housing the largest collection of Churchill’s paintings and filled with treasures from every aspect of Churchill’s life, the rooms remain much as they were when he lived there, offering a unique opportunity to explore the home of one of Britain’s greatest leaders. Here Churchill was a politician and statesman but also a husband, father, writer, painter and garden planner. The rooms in the house remain much as they were when he lived here, with pictures, books and personal mementoes while a special exhibition gives deeper insight into his life through 50 objects.

The hillside gardens reflect Churchill’s love of the landscape and nature, including the lakes he created, the kitchen garden and the Marycot, a playhouse designed for Mary, Winston and Clementine’s youngest daughter.

Dating back to the 13th century, Hever Castle was once the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, the second wife of Henry VIII and Mother of Elizabeth I. It formed the unlikely backdrop to a sequence of tumultuous events that changed the course of Britain’s history, monarchy and religion. Its panelled rooms house fine furniture, tapestries, antiques and an impressive collection of Tudor portraits. The Book of Hours Room beautifully illuminates two prayer books which belonged to Anne Boleyn and bear her inscriptions and signature.

Today, much of what you see is the result of the remarkable efforts of William Waldorf Astor, who used his fortune to restore and extend the Castle in the early 20th century. The Astor Suite is dedicated to its more recent history, showcasing pictures and memorabilia relating to the Astor family and the Edwardian period.

Windsor Castle is the most important, secular historic building in Britain. It is the largest inhabited castle in the world. It is an architectural masterpiece and has come to symbolise the history of the English nation. The skyline of battlements, turrets and the great Round Tower are all instantly recognisable throughout the world. A marvellous backdrop to Royal Pageantry, the final resting place of Kings and Queens.

At the castle there is so much to marvel at, the opulent state apartments, the semi-state apartments, Queen Mary`s Doll’s House, Royal Gardens and of course the magnificent St. Georges Chapel.

Enjoy lunch at Eton, overlooking the River Thames and the Castle. Before we leave visit the beautiful High Street, and pass by the famous Eton College Boys School. Over 20 Prime Ministers were schooled here along with Princes Harry and William. There is time for shopping and enjoying the River Thames before we pass historic Runnymede, which bore witness to the signing of the Magna Carta in 1215.

Hampton Court Palace has witnessed nearly 500 years of English history. Built-in the 16th Century by Cardinal Wolsey, Henry VIII’s chief minister. The Palace has been extended, altered, repaired and renovated over the centuries. Viewed from the West Gate the Palace today is still the redbrick home of Henry VIII; to the East, it presents the stately Baroque façade designed by Sir Christopher Wren in the 17th century.

With its beautiful gardens and extensive parkland, set by the River Thames, the Palace is both visually and historically interesting. A walk around will intrigue, amaze and delight. After touring the extensive interior, spend time getting lost in the ancient maze, exploring the outstanding formal gardens, the jousting grounds and visiting perhaps the oldest tennis court in the world. Time for afternoon tea before returning.

Discover Britain at War

This inspiring day shares a view of WWII Britain and the huge contribution that the United States made to the Allied war effort and final victory over Nazi Germany. Our day starts at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford, which houses over 200 aircraft, many military vehicles, artillery and naval vessels in seven main exhibition buildings

The American Air Museum in Britain is a story of two nations united through war, loss, love and duty. Re-live exciting personal stories, from Duke Boswell, who jumped out of a C-47 transport aircraft on D-Day, to Huie Lamb, a fighter pilot who was forced to ditch his P-51 Mustang in the North Sea. From the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, Sally B, also known as Memphis Belle from the film, used during the Second World War, to the remotely piloted Predator used in present day conflict, discover more about the United States aviation history in the American Air Museum. The American Air Museum website records the stories of the men and women of the US Army Air Forces (USAAF) who served their country from the UK in the Second World War.

Nearby to Duxford is the Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial site in England. We have time to pay our respects and remember. Set on 30 acres, the cemetery contains the remains of 3,812 American war dead; 5,127 names are recorded on the Walls of the Missing. Rosettes mark the names of those since recovered and identified. Most died in the Battle of the Atlantic or the strategic air bombardment of northwest Europe.

Stop at a country inn for lunch and continue to Bletchley Park, the top-secret home of the WW II Nazi Enigma code breakers. Hear the story of British World War Two codebreaking; a place where technological innovation and human endeavour came together to make ground-breaking achievements that have helped shape the world we live in today. This unique site was previously a vast Victorian estate, where parts including the Mansion still survive, expanding during wartime to accommodate Codebreaker's Huts and Blocks.

It grew from a small team of specialists to a vast intelligence factory of thousands of dedicated women and men. This extraordinary combination of brilliant and determined people and cutting-edge technology contributed significantly to the Allied victory. In tough conditions, they provided vital intelligence and developed pioneering technological innovations that had a direct and profound influence on the outcome of the war.

What Our Customers Say

  • Hi Andrew.. We had a wonderful trip. We saw so much in a short time. My husband knew quite a lot about England’s past and had a great deal of knowledge about Nelson and the victory ship. He was in awe. And the jewels, Andrew.. amazing! We just loved everything. We even saw a show “Tina” about Tina Turner. What fun! The best for me was Downton abbey. It was as if I was part of the family,.. the TV show. I couldn’t believe I was actually there. And Windsor OMG!!! Breathtaking. The weather was also perfect! Thank you for all the planning and organizing this trip for us. We waited 2 years. We will definitely join you again! Private touring is the only way me and my husband travel; and we travel a lot. MyUKtour (Andrew Wills) is exceptional and I highly recommend his trip. You won’t be sorry. We will definitely use this company again soon. Our private driver was fantastic— an extremely clean car and very, very safe. I was quite comfortable. He picked us up and dropped us off at the hotel entrance. He was always nearby as we toured. Our private tour guide was knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor. Lots of fun! The tours were just amazing!!!!!!! We love to walk and he took us around— seeing all the sites we requested.. plus more! All our admission tickets were purchased ahead of time and we never had to wait on a line or find a place to park a rented car. A very thorough, organized, well-thought out itinerary. We could not have completed all this on our own. We had such a wonderful time. MyUKtour (Andrew Wills) is exceptional and I highly recommend his trip. You won’t be sorry. It was fantastic!
